Workouts Plus — Support
One person makes Workouts Plus, and that same person answers your email. Here are the questions that come up most; if yours isn't below, just write to me.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need iCloud?
Yes. Workouts Plus stores everything as files in your own iCloud Drive, so it needs you signed into iCloud with iCloud Drive turned on. If you see the iCloud Drive screen, check Settings → your name → iCloud, then reopen the app — here's why, and the full steps.
How do I run a workout on my Apple Watch?
Start the workout on your iPhone — pick a split — and the watch app launches straight into it. The first time, allow the Health prompt that appears (it's what lets the workout run on your wrist). Then tap an exercise and work through each set: a count-up work phase, swipe to a counting-down rest, and so on. On the last set, choose One More or Done.
Can I change the rest time?
Yes — set Rest Between Sets in the iPhone app's Settings. The value syncs to your watch and drives the rest countdown.
Does my progress sync between watch and phone?
Yes, in real time. Completing a set on the watch advances the iPhone without you touching it, and everything is saved to your iCloud Drive, so it follows you to your other devices.
The watch app says to start a workout on iPhone.
That's expected when no workout is active — the watch runs the session you start from the phone. Open the iPhone app and begin a workout from a split, and the watch will follow.
How do I back up, move, or delete my data?
Your splits and workouts are files in your iCloud Drive, so they're backed up with your iCloud account and follow you to a new device automatically. To remove something, delete it in the app or remove the file in the Files app — it clears everywhere it synced.
