Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
On your device, and — for apps that sync — in your own iCloud Drive or in Apple Health. None of it lives on a server of mine. You can open, export or delete it yourself at any time.
Does it sync between my devices?
Yes, through your own iCloud, automatically. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account on each device and that iCloud Drive is turned on. Sync needs a network connection, but the apps work offline and catch up when you're back online.
I need to grant or change a permission.
Camera, photos, Bluetooth and Apple Health access can all be granted or revoked in the Settings app under Privacy & Security, or in the app's own row in Settings. Apps ask the first time a feature needs the permission; if you declined, you can enable it there later.
How do I back up or move my data?
Because your content is stored as files in your iCloud (or in Apple Health), it's already backed up with your iCloud account and follows you to a new device automatically. Some apps also offer their own export/restore in Settings.
How do I delete everything?
Delete items inside the app, or remove the underlying files in the Files app (or workouts in the Health app). Removing the app and its iCloud data clears it everywhere it synced.
