Isabelline
A typography and layout system in Sass for content-first websites — sensible defaults for readable, elegant article pages, distributed as an independent npm module.
Isabelline is a comprehensive typography and layout mixin for Sass, built for sites where the writing is the point. It ships a carefully tuned set of defaults — measure, rhythm, headings, lists, code — so an article looks considered before you write a single rule of your own.
How it grew up
The idea of a reusable stylesheet bounced around for years: first as a Jekyll include, then a brief stint in 11ty, and finally as part of my Astro-based static-site setup — until it earned its own life as a standalone npm package.
Where it’s at
A pre-release is published on npm, and the theme now powers several of my sites. Work continues on documentation and on making the configuration surface small but expressive — a single base hue drives the palette, much like the theme this very site is built on.
