Frequently asked questions

Do I need iCloud?

Yes. The app stores your medication list and history in your own iCloud, so it needs you signed into iCloud. If sync seems stuck, check Settings → your name → iCloud, then reopen the app.

How do dose reminders work?

You get one notification per time of day — Morning, Midday, Evening, Bedtime — and it deliberately never shows a medication name, so nothing personal appears on your lock screen. Tapping it opens the take-meds sheet to record your doses. If reminders aren't arriving, the app's Notifications settings screen shows the permission state and how to fix it.

Can I change when Morning, Midday, Evening and Bedtime are?

Yes — the Dose Times setting lets you set the actual clock time for each. Changing a time moves every medication scheduled at it, on all your devices.

I took my meds earlier but forgot to log it.

The take-meds sheet lets you log each dose at "now" or an earlier time, and you can take, skip, or leave any dose for later. Logged something by mistake? Swipe it away in the day's history.

The watch isn't showing my doses.

Make sure the watch app is installed and your iPhone has synced recently. Takes and skips logged on the watch reach the phone even when it's out of range — they transfer the next time the devices see each other. If the two stay out of step, open the app on both devices to give them a chance to catch up.

Where does the medication information come from?

From public sources: RxNorm, DailyMed, openFDA and MedlinePlus. Every line of safety information quotes the FDA label section it cites. Meds in Hand is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice — talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your medications.

How do I back up, move, or delete my data?

Your data lives in your own iCloud, so it's backed up with your iCloud account and follows you to a new device automatically. The app also has a built-in backup & restore in Settings. Removing a medication or dose entry in the app clears it everywhere it synced.

Still stuck?
